Properties

The Properties tab under Site Settings allows administrators to define custom data fields for resources and users, inherit portal-level configurations, and manage which technical details are displayed publicly on individual resource pages.

Custom Resource Properties

Use this section to create bespoke fields specifically for tracking unique asset metadata across your site.

  • Click the green plus (+) icon to define new parameters for your facility's physical assets, instruments, or spaces.

Custom Site User Properties

Create administrative metadata fields to capture and track custom user attributes.

  • Click the green plus (+) icon to generate custom user attributes. Each property can be managed using the following structural schema:
    • Property Name: The designated label for the user attribute.
    • Property Type: The format of the data entry field (e.g., text, dropdown, date).
    • Property Options: Specific selection values or constraints assigned to the field.
    • Tools: Administrative utilities to edit, reorder, or delete the custom property.

Custom Site Properties

This area displays high-level characteristics assigned directly to your site architecture.

Note: Custom site properties cannot be created from this page; they can only be inherited from overarching portal memberships.

Property Visibility on Resource Pages

Control which technical features, criteria, and details are visible to users on individual resource profiles. Use the toggles to turn visibility on or off for each property.

💡 Pro Tip: Organizing Properties into Sections

To keep your resource pages organized, you can group related properties into visually distinct sections. Simply name your properties with a section prefix using the following format:

Section: Property Name (e.g., typing Amenities: Projector will group the "Projector" attribute under an "Amenities" header).

Please note: Certain properties will remain hidden on user-facing pages unless an explicit data value is populated for that resource.
